Active shooter drill to be held in Social Circle

SOCIAL CIRCLE –  Social Circle City Schools and local first-responders are working together for the safety of local schools.

In order to enhance our safety preparedness, Social Circle City Schools, in conjunction with local first-responders, will take part in an “Active Shooter” drill on Oct. 4.

This drill will take place between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the middle/high school campus.

This is a professional learning day for faculty and staff, and school will not be in session during this drill.

Emergency vehicles will be present during this time.

“As always, our goal is to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and staff,” Joe Chapman, Walton County Sheriff said. “It’s is unfortunate that in our great country that we have to have training like this but it makes our hearts happy to know that we are prepared and it is very pleasing to see the first responders all working together to insure the safety of our schools.”
