Armed robbery reported Sunday night at Dollar General in Loganville

On the heels of a robbery on Friday at the BB&T in Loganville, the Dollar General on Lawrenceville Road less than a mile away was robbed on Sunday night, March 11, 2018.

“Loganville Police Department officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at 9 p.m. Sunday at the Dollar General on Lawrenceville Road. Witnesses described a black male dressed in all black with a black ski mask and hat with a backpack entered the store and threatened an employee,” said Robbie Schwartz, spokesman for the City of Loganville. “The suspect reportedly had a gun and fled the scene on foot. Loganville police and Walton County Sheriff’s Office personnel set up a perimeter in an attempt to catch the suspect, utilizing a K-9 unit as well, but were unable to track down the suspect.”

Schwartz said the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money. It is not the same suspect who robbed the BB&T on Friday evening. That suspect, Shonquez Jawun Dorsey, 21, of Baton Rouge, LA, was arrested later Friday night at the McDonald’s next to the BB&T.
