If you bank with Bank of America, you will have to go a little further than Monroe or Loganville branches for in-person banking options at the moment. These local branches are temporarily closed and it is unclear as to how long these closures will remain. It is also not clear exactly why except for a message online and over the phone stating that these branches are closed.
You will find the following message for both the Monroe and Loganville branches at the link as well as details and direction to the next nearest one that is open.
“This Financial Center has been temporarily closed. Please visit one of our neighboring ATMs or utilize Online and Mobile Banking, all of which are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To make an appointment to access your safe deposit box during regular business hours, email us your full name, address and phone number at:firstname.lastname@example.org.”
According to research online, this is something that has been ongoing for some time at varying branches throughout the country. When asked why by an ABC affiliate back in August last year, Colleen Haggarty, senior Vice President of Media Relations to the Bank of America gave the following response after saying that the institution has been “briefly closing centers since early in the pandemic.”
“These temporary closures occur in areas where foot traffic is low, or when staffing is not sufficient for all to remain open,” Haggerty told the ABC affiliate. “When a center closes, we work to reopen it as soon as possible.”
