Bethlehem man charged with vehicular homicide after passenger dies following wreck on 316

The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 on State Route 316 at the intersection with Hurrican Trail in unincorporated Dacula. Michael Hall, 40, of Bethlem was initially charged with Driving under the Influence, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Serious Injury by Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and Following Too Closely when his passenger, Alishia Williamson, 37, of Bethlehem received life-threatening injuries in the two-vehicle accident. A homicide by vehicle charge was added when Williamson died as a result of her injuries on Monday.

According to GCPD press release, Hall was driving a gold Chevrolet Malibu with Williamson in the passenger seat when he allegedly slammed into the back of a vehicle, driven by Lesly Jimenez, 19, of Athens, as she was slowing her vehicle due to traffic at the Hurricane Trail intersection. Jimenez’s vehicle allegedly was pushed through the intersection for about 200 feet before coming to rest in the center grass median. Jimenez and one of her passengers received non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital and a second passenger in her vehicle was not injured.

Hall also was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was arrested after he was released from the hospital. He is currently being held in Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond. Both vehicles were impounded to Gwinnett County Police Headquarters for further analysis.
