Breaking: Dogs rescued from overnight barn fire in Walton County

Walton County Fire Rescue reports that several dogs were rescued from an early morning barn fire in Walton County on Jan. 9, 2019.

“WCFR responded to a barn fire at 1670 Nunnally Farm Road at 03:40 a.m. “The barn was heavily involved in fire, there was also damage to the residence at that address due to radiant heat from the barn fire,” Batallion Chief Craig League with WCFR reported. “There were several dogs inside the barn at the time of the fire, several dogs were rescued by fire crews.”

League said there is only one dog unaccounted for, but it is possible that it escaped. Fire crews are still on the scene extinguishing hot spots.

(Editor’s Note: Please note the correction – it was Nunnally Farm Road – not New Hope Church Road)
