Vehicle hits tree after driver loses control on Nunnally Farm Road in Walton County
WALTON COUNTY (Jan. 3, 2026) Georgia State Patrol Post 46 Assistant Commander Christoph Ayers reports that a child and a passenger received life-threatening injuries in a single vehicle crash on Nunnally Farm Road in Walton County on Jan. 3, 2026.
Ayers said that on arrival at the scene he observed a heavily damaged 2008 Chevrolet Colorado that had crashed into a tree. Walton EMS personnel advised that they were transporting all three occupants to a local hospital.
After the initial investigation, Ayers said he was able to determine that the driver of the vehicle had been traveling south towards SR 138 too fast for the wet curved roadway. This action caused the truck to lose control and crash into a tree. Ayers said the initial reports were that only minor injuries were associated with the crash. However, he learned at the hospital that the child passenger and the front seat passenger had sustained life-threatening injuries and the SCRT/E team was called in to investigate.
The driver allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the crash and Ayers was able to determine that the driver had been driving under the influence of alcohol.
“Due to the extent of his injuries, warrants will be taken out for his arrest,” Ayers said.
At this time names have not been released.
