BARROW COUNTY, GA (Aug. 25, 2026) The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office announced that the driver and a store clerk sustained minor injuries on Tuesday morning when a dump truck reportedly experienced mechanical issues and run into the Super H gas station on Christmas Avenue.
According to a press release from BCSO, at 9:15 a.m. on Aug. 25, the BCSO responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a dump truck at the Super H gas station located at 752 Christmas Avenue.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that the dump truck experienced an apparent mechanical issue while traveling in the area. According to the driver, the vehicle lost power, causing him to lose the ability to properly steer and stop the vehicle. The dump truck subsequently struck a utility pole before continuing into the Super H building. A store clerk who was inside the building at the time of the collision sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the dump truck sustained minor
scratches to his hand. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) was notified and is assisting with the investigation involving the commercial vehicle. Georgia Power was also notified and responded to the scene due to damage sustained to the utility pole,” BCSO announced in the press release.
The Sheriff’s Office and utility crews remained in the area working to ensure the safety of the area and motorist and member of the public were asked to use caution while crews were still on the scene. The incident remains under investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
