WALTON COUNTY, GA (March 20, 2026) – Walton County Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Craig League reports that a home in Walton County sustained moderate damage and lost the family dog in a fire Friday afternoon.
“At 3:19 p.m. this afternoon, personnel from WCFR and Loganville Fire Department responded to a residential house fire in the 3600 block of Creekwood Trail. Firefighters arrived to find a working fire on a two story house,” League said. “All of the occupants were able to evacuate.”
League said the fire was brought under control by firefighters. The home sustained moderate damage and has displaced two adults and two children.
“Sadly the family’s dog perished in the fire,” league said.
The occupants are being supported by family in the area, League said, adding that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but investigators responded to the scene.
