Barrow County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Loganville woman was arrested on Oct. 24, 2017 and charged with allegedly taking funds from Bethlehem First United Methodist Church. Nikki Shelton, 28, was taken into custody following an interview at the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office and is charged with theft by taking. Shelton was the finance director at the church. She is currently being held at the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center awaiting her first court appearance.
According to a report on the BCSO Facebook page, the Sheriff’s Office was notified by the church of missing funds and, following an investigation, Shelton was subsequently charged.
