Firefighters from Walton County Fire Rescue and Monroe Fire Department are currently on the scene of a working house fire on Parker Drive just north of Monroe. Firefighters were still on the scene at 4:20 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021.
WCFR Assistant Fire Chief Craig League said there were people at home at the time the fire began. There were five adults and three children.
“Everyone was able to escape. Red Cross has been contacted for assistance,” League said.
Heavy fire damage is reported throughout the home. League said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time. A fire investigator is on route.
