Breaking: Overnight house fire in Social Circle causes heavy damage to a home

SOCIAL CIRCLE (Dec. 15) – Social Circle Fire Chief Ken Zaydel reported that the City of Social Circle and Walton County Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 200 block of Wildflower Drive just after 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 15th.

“Units arrived on scene to find a two-story residence with heavy fire showing through the roof and in the rear of the structure. The fire caused heavy damage throughout the structure,” Zaydel said. “The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.”

Zaydel said the city’s Fire Marshall along with investigators from the State Fire Marshalls Office are investigating to determine cause and origin. This is the second overnight house fire in Walton County that has caused significant damage to the home.
