Yolanda Hunter, Vice President of Phoenix Senior Living, confirmed that the Retreat at Loganville did have a resident who passed away this week after contracting COVID-19. The Retreat at Loganville (formerly Southern Plantation) is one of the Phoenix senior living facilities.
“It always saddens us when we lose a resident,” Hunter said. “We want to extend our sympathy to the family as well as the staff and other residents who always feel it when they lose a peer.”
Phoenix released the following statement later this afternoon.
“We are saddened to report that, earlier this morning, one of our fellow members of The Retreat at Loganville family has passed away due to the COVID-19 virus. Our hearts are tremendously heavy at this time and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and all of his friends here at The Retreat at Loganville.”
This would be a third person who has been known to pass away as a result of COVID-19 in Walton County.
