Breaking: Road Closure at Towler Street in Monroe due to a gas leak

At 2:15 p.m. Monroe Fire Chief Andrew Dykes reported that the gas is controlled but Utilities will be on scene for an extended period of time. One lane was expected to be opened by about 2:45 p.m. to allow access to the townhomes.

MONROE, GA – (Aug. 18, 2025 – At 1:53 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 18, Monroe Fire Chief Andrew Dykes reported that Monroe Fire Department and Monroe Utilities were on the scene of a gas leak at Towler St. and Old Mill Run. As a result, Towler Street is currently closed.
