Every girl deserves to be a princess at least once in her lifetime, whether at 8 years old or 98 years old. For Myra Cavan, of Loganville, it was 98 years old. The small personal home care in Loganville where she lives made sure that her birthday wish was granted. She was made “Princess for a day.”

This spritely 98-year-old was born on July 19, 1919. She was a singer, all her life, she said. But there was one very special day in her career. It was the day she sang at the White House for Eleanor Roosevelt at the request of her husband, President Theodore Roosevelt. She says she lived in Charleston, SC, at the time, and it was there that she was asked, personally, by the president, to sing for his wife.
Wednesday, she was given a birthday celebration fit for a princess, along with a cake that sparkled for the occasion.
Happy Birthday Mrs. Myra Cavan!
