Walton County is celebrating this 4th of July in style as the community looks to mark the nation’s 250th birthday with a series of events all week.
Loganville kicked things off Saturday with a concert and fireworks show, and the various cities have more planned.
A community prayer breakfast was held in Monroe Tuesday morning, and more is planned today with live entertainment and food trucks on Loganville’s town green from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Social Circle and Good Hope are partnering for a parade tomorrow, while an evening concert in Walnut Grove Park will see Funky Bluester and the 293 Band playing for the crowds.
On Independence Day itself, the biggest events yet are planned. The John Clarke Chapter of the NSDAR will host a patriotic observance in the city of Social Circle on the City Hall steps from 10 a.m. to noon with music and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Monroe will cap off the week with a celebration of the 250th Anniversary of America’s founding with a day filled with patriotic tradition, hometown charm, and family fun on Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the heart of downtown Monroe surrounding the historic Walton County Courthouse.
