Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes we will be starting next month for Walton County residents who wish to be prepared and prepared to help others in the case of an emergency.
“These classes are free and will help train our communities on how to take care of their homes, neighbors and loved ones during the event of an emergency where professional responders may be delayed,” said Bradley Stanley, CERT coordinator for Walton County. “We are very fortunate that such emergencies have not hit Walton County, GA however, it is extremely important for our communities to have trained citizens that can help in times of need.”
Stanley said these classes will be held on Thursday evenings, Beginning Sept. 11, 2025 and running each Thursday night from 7 – 9:30 p.m., and are open for age range from 10 years of age (with parental approval) through our years.
“We encourage all classes to be attended and will have a final Disaster Drill in November for the class to participate in a set drill utilizing their learned skills for graduation,” Stanley said.
