Steve Williams, of Loganville, is a local counselor who works with foster children. He and many local members of public safety came together this past Christmas to make sure that a local Monroe family was able to have a Christmas when they didn’t think they would be able to.
Well, Williams is again putting out a call to the local community for help – this time with school supplies for several families who are struggling to get just the basics needed to complete their education this year.
“I serve 51 kids on my case load and most are in need of school supplies. Their families simply can’t afford them,” Williams said. “I serve Walton, Oconee, Clarke, and Morgan Counties and just about every one of my kids are DFACS or in Foster Care. All of these kids are elementary age.”
Williams gave the following list of supplies needed.
- Wide ruled paper
- Pencils Facial
- Tissue
- Clorox wipes
- Sticky notes
- glue sticks
- Scissors
- Index cards
- Crayons
- Composition notebook
- Colored pencils
- Highlighter
- Erasers
- Pens of all colors
If anyone is in a position to help with collecting these supplies so these children can finish up the remainder of the school year with the supplies they need, they are asked to contact Williams at 678-670-3549 or swilliams@projectfamilygeorgia.com.
“I can meet them anywhere,” Williams said.
