Community Clean-up Day in downtown Monroe this Saturday

In honor of Earth Day and Georgia Cities Week, Monroe is again using the opportunity to clean up the city.

You are invited to join with your neighbors on April 16-22 to clean up the town. During the week there will be NO CHARGE for all residents within the city limits (no businesses) wishing to bring garbage, scrap metal, and tires (limit 10) for trash dumping at the Public Works Transfer Station, 213 Cherry Hill Road.

And here’s the really good part. In addition, there will be a CleanUp Competition on Saturday, April 21st with a chance to win a $100 in Downtown Dollars.

Details:

Sign-In at City Hall (215 N. Broad Street) at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 21. Each group is responsible for picking up trash around town and taking it to Cherry Hill Transfer Station (213 Cherry Hill Road) between 9  a.m.- 12 p.m.  $100 in Downtown Dollars will be awarded to the team judged to have the “most team spirit” (uniforms, costumes, etc.)
