COVID-19 cases in Walton County Schools down slightly from last week’s spike

The cases of COVID-19 and people on precautionary quarantine at Walton County School District was down slightly from the peak of 57 cases last week, but are still high in comparison to previous weeks. There was a total of 53 cases, 25 of which were from Youth Middle School. Last week, there were 34 cases from YMS and 10 from Walnut Grove with the remaining 13 spread out over the rest of the school district.

The 53 cases from this week represent .33 % of the school population. This has resulted in 330 additional individuals on precautionary quarantine, 2.1 % of the school population. Last week, 391 were on precautionary quarantine.
