COVID-19: Georgia 145; Gwinnett 4; Walton 1 death reported in the past 24 hours

Georgia cases 6,006 plus 3,372 Antigen positives reported for 9,378 total positive tests in the past 24 hours

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021. Gwinnett County is reporting four more death in the past 24 hours, Walton County is reporting one more deaths and Georgia is reporting 145 more deaths in the past 24 hours. 

(Editor’s Note: The reports over the weekend are often lower and Tuesday is usually the catch up day. Sunday was 2, Monday was 17 and Tuesday was 145 – averaging out at about 55 each day)

Walton County

Cases – 5,617 – 64 more cases reported in the past 24 hours – 1,189 in the past 2 weeks 
Cases per 100,000 – 5,862 cumulative (1,241 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 90 – that’s one more death reported over the past 24 hours (deaths per 100,000 is 93.9)
Testing 29.3 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 14.6 % (29.3 % of those tested came back positive over the past 2 weeks) 

Gwinnett County

Cases – 60,689 – that’s 913 more cases reported in the past 24 hours  (10,449 in the past 2 weeks).
Cases per 100,000 – 6,249 cumulative (1,076 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 590 – That’s four more deaths reported in the past 24 hours (60.8 deaths per 100,000 reported)
Testing – 24.8% positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 12.3 % (24.8 % of those tested came back positive over the past 2 weeks)

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 648,694 that is 6,006 more cases reported in the past 24 hours. An additional 3,372 Antigen positive cases also were reported in the past 24 hours.
ICU admissions – 7,799 – 55 more admissions reported in the past 24 hours Hospitalizations – 45,177 – That’s 435 more hospitalizations reported in past 24 hours, 
Total deaths – 10,444– That is 145 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

A total of 5,737,862 PCR/Molecular tests have been performed and 416,089 antibody tests. That is 29,802 PCR/Molecular test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the these tests performed collectively, 613,704 (10.7 %) have come back positive and 50,103 (12 %) antibody tests have come back positive. Today 5,792 (19.4 %) PCR/Molecular tests came back positive.

Walton County Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities 

Great Oaks, Monroe – 28 confirmed staff members and 60 residents. That’s no more residents and two more staff members reported positive in the past so far this year. There have been 10 deaths, no more reported in the past 24 hours.

Hollander Senior Living, Monroe, Two residents, 3 confirmed staff case, two deaths – That’s no more staff members or residents reporting positive and one more death reported in the past 24 hours.

Magnolia Senior Living – Loganville – (Gwinnett County) has 2 staff members who have tested positive – That is no additional case reported in the past 24 hours.

Park Place, Monroe – 117 resident cases, 62 confirmed staff cases, 30 deaths – That’s two more staff, one more resident cases and two more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

The Retreat at Loganville Pearl Memory Care Building – 23 confirmed resident cases, four deaths – 19 recovered – 2 staff members – That’s one more staff member in the past 24 hours.

The Retreat at Loganville: 39 confirmed resident cases – 25 staff cases and 6 deaths. That is no more residents, no more staff cases or resident deaths in the past 24 hours.

Social Circle Nursing and Rehab in Social Circle is reporting that 23 residents and 13 staff members tested positive for COVID-19 and two resident death were reported. No more cases reported or deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
