COVID-19: Georgia 147; Gwinnett 9; Walton 4 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021. Gwinnett County is reporting nine more deaths in the past 24 hours, Walton County is reporting four more deaths and Georgia is reporting 147 more deaths in the past 24 hours.

Walton County

Cases – 6,575 – 38 more cases reported over the weekend – 817 in the past 2 weeks 
Cases per 100,000 – 6,862 cumulative (853 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 141 – that’s 4 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours (deaths per 100,000 is 147.2)
Testing 20.5 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 15.4 % (20.5 % of those tested came back positive over the past 2 weeks) 

Gwinnett County

Cases – 72,464 – that’s 565 more cases reported in the past 24 hours  (10,292 in the past 2 weeks).
Cases per 100,000 – 7,462 cumulative (1,060 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 689 – That’s 9 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours (70.9 deaths per 100,000 reported)
Testing – 19.3 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 13.2 % (19.3% of those tested came back positive over the past 2 weeks)

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 737,205 that is 5,430 more cases reported over the past 24 hour. An additional 2,242 Antigen positive cases also were reported in the past 24 hours for a total 7,672 positive cases.
ICU admissions – 8,331 – 41 more admissions reported in the past 24 hours. Hospitalizations – 49,608 – That’s 361 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours.
Total deaths – 12,280– That is 147 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

A total of 6,338,228 PCR/Molecular tests have been performed and 439,649 antibody tests. That is 42,184 PCR/Molecular test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the these tests performed collectively, 705,770 (11.1 %) have come back positive and 58,885 (13.4 %) antibody tests have come back positive. Today 5,759 (13.7 %) PCR/Molecular tests came back positive.

Walton County Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities

(At 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, updated figures had not been given by the GDPH.)

Great Oaks, Monroe – 30 confirmed staff members and 65 residents. That’s no more resident and no more staff members reported positive in the past 24 hours. There have been 13 deaths, that’s no more reported in the past 24 hours.

Hollander Senior Living, Monroe, Two residents, 3 confirmed staff case, two deaths – That’s no more staff members or residents reporting positive and no more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

Magnolia Senior Living – Loganville – (Gwinnett County) has 2 staff members who have tested positive – That is no additional case reported in the past 24 hours.

Park Place, Monroe – 120 resident cases, 66 confirmed staff cases, 35 deaths – That’s one more staff members, no more residents cases and one more death reported in the past 24 hours.

The Retreat at Loganville Pearl Memory Care – 32 confirmed resident cases, five deaths – 9 staff members – That’s one more staff member, no more residents and no more deaths in the past 24 hours.

The Retreat at Loganville: 39 confirmed resident cases – 25 staff cases and 6 deaths. That is no more residents, no more staff cases or resident deaths in the past 24 hours.

Social Circle Nursing and Rehab in Social Circle is reporting that 23 residents and 13 staff members tested positive for COVID-19 and two resident death were reported. No more cases reported or deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
