Walton County School District is reported 62 new cases of COVID-19 districtwide (.39 % of school population) and report 293 individuals (1.8 % of school population) on precautionary quarantine as a result of the new cases. Of the 62 new cases, 13 are from Loganville High School.
“While we have seen a slight increase (.07%) in cases this week, the rate of increase is much slower than in previous weeks, including the weeks prior to Winter Break,” said Callen Moore, public relations officer for WCSD. “We are hopeful that we will see our school and local community numbers level out and start to decline as we move further away from the holiday season. We ask our parents, students and staff to continue to help us mitigate the risk and spread of COVID-19 by staying home when they are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19, wearing a mask and washing their hands regularly. “
