Maj. Scott Whisnant, public information for Walton County Sheriff’s Office, said that the 2019/2020 Christmas Holiday season saw a lower crime rate than is usual. He gave the information when addressing the first TRIAD meeting of the year at the Retreat at Loganville on Jan. 3, 2029.
“We’ve had the quietest holiday season in a while. Usually, theft and crime pick up exponentially through the holiday season but this year we’re doing so much better than anybody else around,” Whisnant said. “This could change morrow but we’ve been very blessed. We’ve kind of changed our tactics and that seems to be working. We did have a series of bad wrecks and a burglary on a house that was up for sale – but that was the first burglary since before Thanksgiving.”
