Dekalb County PD seeks help finding suspect in murder and officer shooting

Tucker, Ga. Dekalb County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect in the shooting death of his girlfriend early this morning then subsequently ambushed and shot a Dekable County police officer responding to the scene.

According to a press release from DCPD, at about 12:20 on Aug. 1, 2019, Otis Walker, 27, allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend inside of his home on Hodgdon Corners Cove in Lithonia. He then ambushed and shot DeKalb County Police Officer Derek Nunn when he responded to the location.

Walker then fled on foot and is considered armed and dangerous. Nunn had surgery this morning and is currently recovering at a local hospital. The name of the murder victim will be released once all next of kin have been notified.
