Early morning fire at Jackson Mobile Home Park under investigation

An early morning fire Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Jackson Mobile Home Park on Highway 20 in the Loganville area of Walton County displaced one man and is currently under investigation.

“Walton County Fire Rescue, along with Loganville Fire Department, responded to a fire in a double wide modular home at 5370 Ga Hwy 20, Lot 32 in Jackson Mobile Home Park at 5:10 am,” said Battalion Chief Craig League. “Upon arrival of fire department units, there was heavy fire throughout the structure. There was one male occupant living in the home at the time of the fire, he was not injured and was able to get out of the home.”
League said a kitten that appeared to be about 5 or 6 weeks old was rescued from under the home and given to residents at the park.
League said the cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation by WCFR investigators along with Walton County Sheriff’s Office criminal investigation division.
