The National Weather Service at Peachtree City has issued a Flash Flood Watch from 2 p.m. Friday through Saturday evening. Walton, Gwinnett and surrounding counties are included in the watch.
According to the National Weather Service, the remnants of Tropical storm Cindy will push eastward through the weekend, interacting with a week boundary the will move south though much of Georgia. This could lead to flooding, especially along the Interstate 20 corridor. In addition, corks, steams and rivers may overflow their bands. A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may lead to flash flooding. You are urged to monitor the situation in case flash flooding may occur.
