[BARROW and WALTON COUNTY, Ga] – From 6 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, Foothills Education Charter High School will celebrate 17 students who have completed the WeldREADY Program! Parents eager to cheer on their Foothills’ students, and their achievements, are invited to join the celebration at SIMS Academy.

Foothills embarked on this new partnership with the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission (NEGRC) and WorkForce Innovators of America (WIO America). It offers Foothills students the opportunity to complete a 10-week welding program at the Barrow Foothills site. As a result, Kabuta and Caterpillar, who will be in attendance, will be hiring from this class!

“We are so proud of our Foothills graduates! The students who successfully completed their diploma requirements showed extreme strength and focus,” said FECHS Superintendent Sherrie Gibney-Sherman. “The challenges of the pandemic created many obstacles. Our students were able to prevail. We are excited to watch these graduates move on to college and jobs as they begin their next life journey.”
