Stacy Abrams, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate, has been chosen by the Democratic Party to give the Party’s response to the State of the Union address next week. Abrams, who visited Walton County during her unsuccessful run last year against Gov. Brian Kemp, will be the first black woman to ever give the Democratic response to the State of the Union address.
After the delay of a week due to the shutdown, President Donald Trump is due to give his State of the Union address in the United States House of Representatives on Feb. 5, 2019.
