GCPD report that the investigation began in April after a sexual assault report was filed by someone from the Snellville area of Unincorporated Gwinnett County. The complainant reported that her 17-year-old son had been having a sexual relationship with his teacher at South Gwinnett High School where he was a student. The mother had learned of the situation on April 19 and informed the school of the situation. The School Resource Officer and Department of Family and Children Services were contacted. GCPD report that the teacher has since resigned from her teaching position.
According to the report, the relationship began in March and has since ended. Some of the sexual activity allegedly occurred at the school, at the teacher’s residence, and at Lenora Park. The GCPD Special Victims Unit investigated the case and because some of the sexual activity allegedly happened outside the school, GCPD is investigating the case. The teacher is also accused of hosting a party at her home in Grayson during which time the 17-year-old and two other female students allegedly smoked marijuana under her direction. She also allegedly smoked marijuana with them.
Gwinnett County Police Department confirmed that the City of Monroe in Walton County has been advised that some of the activities allegedly occurred in the Monroe city limits. Some students from the Gwinnett County side of Loganville attend South Gwinnett High School.
