Each week during football season, Georgia Farm Bureau in Monroe is offering a game ball to the George Walton Academy player chosen by the coaches as football Player of the Week.
George Walton Academy’s Player of the Game from their matchup with region rival Athens Academy is Jake Whitten! Jake had a great game on both sides of the ball Friday; he notched 7 tackles (1 for loss) on defense, and accrued 200+ all-purpose yards on the night on offense. He also made a big play on special teams by returning a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown. Awesome work, Jake! The game ball was delivered by Walton County Farm Bureau agent Coleman Fisher.
