Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services to hold 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

The Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services will hold a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 11. The ceremony is open to the public and will include a presentation of the colors and a ceremonial wreath-laying by a public safety honor guard. There also will be remarks as representatives from Gwinnett County public safety agencies and members of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners reflect on the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

The event will be emceed by Gwinnett County Fire Engineer Donald Strother and speakers will include Board of Commissioners Chairman Charlotte Nash, Lawrenceville Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson, Gwinnett Fire Chief Russell Knick, Gwinnett Police Chief Butch Ayers, Chief Deputy Lou Solis of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and Capt. Ryan Morgan of the Lawrenceville Police Department


The ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial located in the front parking lot of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville.
