(Loganville, Georgia) Gwinnett County Police report that SWAT activation on Saturday morning ended peacefully with the surrender of a 20-year-old man from the Loganville area.
According to a press release from GCPD, the incident began at about 9 a.m. when police were called to a domestic dispute in the 1300 block of Stream Walk Drive in the Loganville area of Gwinnett County. The victim reported ongoing arguments with Washington and, despite making many attempts to leave the residence, said she was allegedly physically taken back inside by Washington. Subsequently the SWAT team was activated by GCPD after unsuccessful attempts to make contact with Washington.
According to GCPD, about 1 and 1/2 hours after the SWAT team arrived, Washington was taken into custody without incident.
Washington is charged with one count each of aggravated assault by strangulation, false imprisonment, simple assault and battery.
