LOGANVILLE, GA – Gwinnett Walton Habitat for Humanity began a new initiative last month, reaching a major milestone in local affordable housing. On Nov. 19, 2025, two custom modular homes were delivered and placed around Lake Carleton in Loganville, GA, ready to welcome their new homeowners.
This event marks an exciting leap forward for affordable housing in the region, showcasing the powerful potential of modular construction. The homes were expertly manufactured by Home Place Solutions at their state-of-the-art factory in Baxley, GA.
Speed, Quality, and Affordability: The Modular Advantage
This modality of building represents a cost-effective and swift method to produce beautiful, well-built homes that adhere to all local building standards and codes. By leveraging the efficiency of factory production, Gwinnett Walton Habitat can optimize construction timelines and costs, allowing them to serve more families facing the region’s housing crisis.
“We are incredibly excited to bring these new homes to Loganville,” said Eric Miller, Executive Director for Gwinnett Walton Habitat. “The partnership with Home Place Solutions and the use of modular construction is an absolute game-changer. It allows us to deliver high-quality homes faster, ensuring more workforce families in need can achieve the dream of affordable homeownership without sacrificing quality or longevity.”
Empowering Local Workforce Families
These new homes will be purchased by local workforce families who will pay an affordable mortgage payment—the cornerstone of the Habitat model.
The path to homeownership through Gwinnett Walton Habitat is one of true partnership and empowerment:
- Education: Before receiving the keys, each family completes a comprehensive educational curriculum, developing the essential hard skills needed to thrive as first-time homebuyers.
- Sweat Equity: They also complete 250 hours of sweat equity, actively building their own homes alongside community volunteers. This process builds community bonds and fosters a profound sense of pride of ownership and self-reliance long before they move in.
