With the Historic Walton County Courthouse all decked out for Christmas, it is being opened up to the public on certain days for that special Christmas photograph.
“The Historic Walton County Courthouse is decorated for the holidays and open to the public on the evenings of December 7th, 14th, and 21st from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. to coincide with Downtown Monroe’s Christmas Parade and Candlelight Shopping events,” Diane Baggett, Walton County public information officer. “Everyone is invited to bring their camera or their favorite photographer and take pictures in the Courthouse foyer in front of the Christmas tree and on the decorated staircases.”

Baggett said the exterior of the Courthouse also is alight and features six 10 to 12-foot Fraser Firs lining the walkway up to the Courthouse doors. The Historic Walton County Courthouse is located at 111 South Broad Street in downtown Monroe.
