Inaugural Dancing with the Stars for Project ReNeWal deemed a success

If you missed the inaugural Dancing with the Stars for Project ReNeWal, you’re in for a treat. Grab a cup of coffee, a beer or a glass of wine and sit back and enjoy the highlights, courtesy of Darrell Productions.

Monroe Mayor John Howard, Loganville Mayor Rey Martinez, Social Circle Police Chief Tyrone Oliver and Monroe Police Department’s Lt. Brent Davis put on their dancing shoes on Feb. 16, 2019, to represent Walton County on behalf of Project ReNeWal. The event was sold out and, according to Lauri Reeder who organized this first time Dancing with the Stars of Project Renewal fundraiser, it raised more than $40,000 for the shelter. They expect to be able to build on that going forward and you can go ahead and mark your calendars, they already have a date for next time.

“Next year it will be on March 28th,” Reeder said. Anybody who missed this event, but would still like to donate, can do so on the Project Renewal website. If you need the services of Project ReNeWal or know of anybody who does, you can get the information on the website. For more information on just what it is that Project ReNeWal does, read about it in the last issue of Walton Living Magazine online.
