With weather sidlining the Side Hustle Dance Band in June, First Friday Concerts in August will be doubling up. The first one will be the Journey Tribute Band Departure on Friday, Aug. 2 and the Side Hustle Dance Band will be making up for the one it missed in June on Friday, Aug. 16.
Departure, the Journey Tribute Band, played on June 29 in Loganville for the Loganville Independence Day celebrations. It is billed as “the most respected Journey tribute band in the nation. DEPARTURE replicates the look, sound and feel of the original 80’s rock super group; Journey.”
“Side Hustle Dance Band features an 8-piece group – drummer, bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, 3 vocalists, and a saxophonist who doubles as your DJ and MC. All of their musicians are talented, energetic, and are veteran performers with serious entertainment skill. The song list covers all decades and genres: Pop, R&B, Motown, Funk, Soul, Disco, Country, Rock, Alternative, Hip Hop, Yacht Rock, Swing, and more,” Monroe Downtown shared on its Event site.
The music begins at 7 pm. VIP tables are available for $150/table (seating for 8), space is limited. General admission to the concert is free, but you will need bring your own lawn chair if you don’t reserve a table. Bringing your own table is NOT permitted.
