LCA, Social Circle, WGHS and GWA have home football games Friday; other local teams are on the road

Take plenty of liquids for another hot, dry evening watching if you intend to head out to any of the local fields to watch high school football on Sept. 6. The temperature is still expected to be in the high 80s for the 7:30 p.m. kickoffs.

Loganville Christian Academy remained on a winning streak last week, beating Creekside Christian Academy out of McDonough by a score of 23 – 8. The LCA Lions are home again Friday with a non-conference game against Flint River Academy out of Woodbury Ga.

Social Circle went down to Stone Mountain 39-3 in its home game last Friday and the Redskins have another home game this Friday against Cross Keys.

Walnut Grove and Georgia Walton Academy had a bye week last week but will be back in action this Friday. The Walnut Grove Warriors has a home game against Morgan County and GWA’s Bulldogs will host Stratford Academy out of Macon at home.

After their win of 17 – 14 against Loganville last week, the Monroe Area High School Hurricanes travel to Atlanta on Friday, Sept. 6, for a non-conference game against Pace Academy. Loganville is on the road as well, traveling to Bogart to take on North Oconee in a non-conference game.
