LOGANVILLE (GWINNETT/METRO ATLANTA) GA – February 5, 2019 – Loganville Christian Academy (LCA) is pleased to announce that Carol Cheney has been named Director of the Hybrid Program. Carol has been a part of the LCA family since 2001 as a parent and joined the LCA team this year working with students in the Barton program. She comes to us with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University where she graduated summa cum laude.

LCA welcomes Carol’s experience as an educator in many different settings. Carol taught K4 for ten years, during which time she had a special interest in language arts and pursued teacher development in that area. Carol homeschooled for nine years, and during that period she focused on expanding her writing instruction skills and completed extra courses in teaching writing for the elementary and middle school grades. She has been teaching at Scholars Guild Academy for nine years where she has taught Literature, Writing, Intro to Public Speaking, and Greek/Latin Roots.

On a personal note, Carol is married and blessed with three children – and all of their children will have graduated from LCA as of May 2019.

When Loganville Christian Academy opened its doors in 1998, the mission was, and still is, to “prepare students academically, spiritually, and socially for God’s call on their lives.” For the past 21 years, LCA has successfully delivered this mission through the avenue of a traditional educational model.

However, LCA also has a rich history of embracing innovation and change. A few of those examples include the launch of digital curriculum, 1:1 technology, and a partnership with Project Lead the Way that launched LCA’s STEM department. The school’s mission remains firm. The methods of delivering that mission, however, are fluid as seen with the launch of LCA’s Hybrid program.

Enrollment for the Hybrid-Model Education Program is currently open. Spots are limited. To learn more about this strategic new offering, please visit the LCA website at www.lcalions.com/hybrid.
