At noon today, Friday, July 14, 2017, the doors at the Loganville City offices at 4385 Pecan Street will close to the public for good. At 8 a.m. on Monday, July 17, Loganville City Hall and all its services will open up at the new location, 4303 Lawrenceville Road (the old Loganville Elementary School.)
“We will close at noon to finish getting everything moved across and will be up and running on Monday morning. As of right now, we plan to be open at 8 a.m.,” Loganville City Manager Danny said during the final city council meeting in the old building on Thursday evening. “There will be a 2-hour window where the phones may be down. If a citizen calls and can’t get through, they can come to City Hall – that will be at 4303 Lawrenceville Road. Everything will be there. – The code office, fire marshall’s office.”
All City Hall operations will be moved into the front wing of the new city hall, with the addition of Code Enforcement and the Fire Marshall’s office. Beginning July 17, residents will need to go to the new City Hall to pay their utility bills and for government services such as Planning and Zoning permits, new water service and facility rentals. All phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.
According to city officials, additional plans are in the works for the rest of the 10-acre campus. Long-range goals include moving the police and court operations into the second wing of the school and adding possible recreation opportunities to the grounds.
Roberts said there will be a grand opening of the new City Hall at 3:30 p.m. on July 27. People will be able to take a tour of the new location.
