The City of Loganville reported the following incidents for the period June 28 – July 14, 2019. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
A Loganville man was charged with shoplifting under 500.00 after a surveillance video caught him shoplifting several items totaling in $43.42. Walmart plans to prosecute the man who was taken to the Loganville Police Department, booked in, and released on a copy of his citation.
A Loganville PD officer noticed a white Kia Optima run a stop sign and proceed to drive recklessly on and off the road. The officer temporarily lost contact with the vehicle but was later informed that the vehicle had wrecked a few miles ahead. The driver got out of the vehicle and ran through the yard across the street. The driver was arrested and charged with theft by auto, possession schedule IV, and drugs to be kept in original container.
A Loganville man was arrested after an officer pulled him over for a malfunctioning brake light. When the officer began to approach the vehicle, he noticed the strong smell of unburned marijuana coming from the inside the vehicle. The officer found the driver of the vehicle reaching to the opposite seat and chewing on something later identified as marijuana. The officer asked the driver to step out of the car to be searched. The driver was placed under arrest for destruction of evidence, obstruction of justice, and driving without a brake light. He was transported and booked to the Gwinnett County jail.
A Loganville woman was charged with shoplifting less than $500.00 after a surveillance video caught her purposely not scanning certain items into her cart. Walmart plans to prosecute the woman.
A Monroe woman was arrested after a traffic stop was conducted on Lawrenceville Road in Loganville. It was confirmed that her license was suspended previously to the traffic stop. She was transported to the Loganville Police Department and charged with driving while license suspended/revoked.
A Loganville man was arrested after a traffic stop was conducted when the driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt. After both men had given their IDs to the officer, the officer discovered that the passenger of the car had an expired driver’s license and a warrant out for his arrest. The officer searched the passenger and found several pills. The man was placed under arrest and booked into the Loganville Police Department. He was charged with possession schedule II, drugs to be kept in the original container, and warrant pick up.
A Lawrenceville man was arrested for shoplifting at the Loganville Walmart after not scanning over eighty dollars worth of produce at the self-checkout section. Walmart is planning to prosecute the man. He was transported to the Loganville Police Department and charged with shoplifting under 500.00.
A Loganville woman was arrested at the Loganville Walmart for shoplifting less than $500.00. She was attempting to scan the barcode for less expensive items in place of what she was actually taking with her. The offender was released from the scene with a copy of her citation, and Walmart plans to prosecute her.
