
Georgia State Patrol report that parts of Madison and Church Street will be closed Thursday morning for investigations regarding the accident the day after Christmas that resulted in the death of a 12-year-old and charges against his mother.
Jasmine Chandler of Monroe was arrested following the accident on Dec. 26, 2017 that resulted in the death of her 12-year-old son, Sean Thomas, and a slew of charges against her in connection with the accident. Chandler was charged with DUI, first degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, failure to obey traffic control device, open container and a seatbelt violation for her son, Sean Thomas, 12, of Monroe, who died when he was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck. The accident happened when Chandler allegedly failed to stop at the red traffic signal at the intersection of S. Madison Avenue and Church Street.
Trooper First Class Cal Barton with Georgia State Patrol said the road will probably be closed until about lunch time.
