MAHS Alumni and Hurricane football fans invited to meet new coach

Monroe Area High School Alumni are joining together with the Booster Club, Team Pastor and Grace Baptist Church to offer a meet and greet with MAHS’s new football coach Kevin Reach and to boost support for the upcoming season.

“Our Pastor (Tommy Fountain) has been asked to be Team Pastor and we thought it would be great to just get enthusiasm and support built for the Hometown Team,” said Dawn Parker, Director of Technology and Children’s Ministry and administrative assistant to the pastor at Grace Baptist Church. “Next Monday Night we’d like to invite everyone out to meet our Coach Reach!  He will speak and answer questions, and we will tell everyone how they can help support the team!  After all, we all know nothing could potentially bring a community together like Friday Nights cheering on their hometown team!”

The meet and greet is at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 27, at Grace Baptist Church, 110 Mears St., in Monroe. Light refreshments will be served.

Parker said MAHS Booster Club president Mindy Maynard is involved in the event and is helping get the community involved in boosting enthusiasm and support for MAHS.

“Our Pastor has served as Team Pastor of teams in Columbus – even professional hockey teams, and he has some good ideas about forming a “Football Alumni Group” that we hope will succeed,” Parker said.
