MAHS Hurricane Nation rallies for one of its own

Hurricane Nation, the Booster Club for Monroe Area High School’s Hurricane football team, is rally around one of their own.

Davious “Dee” Deshon Branch was injured in a car crash Sunday afternoon and was transported in critical condition by air ambulance to an Atlanta hospital. A prayer vigil at the 1025 Church was called Sunday night by coaches, students friends and family for the popular high-school student who is #15 on the MAHS Hurricane Varsity football team. Ivy Pugh, with the booster club, has put out a call for ways to help the burden for Dee and his family.

“As you all know by now one of our own, Dee Branch, was involved in a car accident yesterday afternoon. We have come up with a plan to help ease the burden of this situation. Gift cards for food & gas as well as cash to help with parking and vending at the hospital are being collected at 1025 Church located at 1025 E Spring St in Monroe. Donations can be dropped off Monday – Thursday from 9AM to 4PM,” Pugh said. “Please keep this family and Dee in your prayers. We are all one heartbeat.”

Anybody from the community is invited to help in this effort with donations that can be dropped off at the church.
