MES students collect over 100 lbs of pop tabs for charity

The Monroe Elementary School Jr Beta Club recently made it their mission to collect pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House charities.

“Over the past few months, they’ve collected over 100 pounds of pop tabs at MES!  On Monday, we took a field trip to tour one of the houses at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Egleston)cand deliver all the tabs,” said Melissa Cowles, Jr. Beta teacher at MES. “It was a great experience! At our lunch, at a McDonald’s restaurant afterward, many of the students chose to donate their change by placing it in the RMHC boxes. They were all very proud of what they were able to contribute and how their work this year will help families dealing with the illness of a child.”
