Monroe Fire Department responded to a car fire at 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at S Madison Avenue and Norris Street in Monroe. Capt. Jack Armstrong with MFD said it took about 3 minutes to extinguish the fire.
There were no injures, but Armstrong said it could have been a close call for the Rec building had the vehicle been any closer. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
