Beading After Dark with Julie Bell: Saturday, March 23 at 7 – 10 pm.  Come out for a wonderful relaxing time at the end of your week! You will create and make your own bracelet bundle (3 bracelets). More info and register by 3/22 –> HERE

In the Gallery Gift Shop
We had 36 artists sell their works in our Gallery Gift Shop in February — original art, photography, prints, blown glass, hand-knitted items, candles, jewelry, pottery … and more!Our artist-members have brought in new items for spring!  New spring-y florals and landscapes originals.  Twyla Germain, Larry Kent, Rita Knight, Martha Mitcham, Mary Ellen Vogel and Wayne Quinn have brought in new paintings. You’ll feel fresh and happy just gazing at these affordable original pieces!Plus new jewelry, pottery, home decor and more!  Adorable bunnies and peeps, too!  Hop on over and take a look!
Summer Regional Show
Open to members and non-members alike!  Download the entry guidelines and application form HERE.

  • Drop off:  April 30, May 1.
  • This is a JURIED show: This means that we will have a panel of jurists to decide which pieces are allowed into the show.  Not all pieces may be accepted into the show; application fee is non-refundable.
  • Best in Show Prize:  $500; other cash prizes awarded to place winners in 2D, 3D and Photography
  • Show judge: Alyson Vuley, Educational Programs Manager,  Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University
  • Pick up dates: June 14 – 15.
  • Fee: $35 for up to three pieces.
Summer ART Camp registration is open!!
In June and July 2019, we offer four weeks of mixed media camps; plus one week of clay camp. Mixed Media Camps will be age-appropriate for ages 5 – 8 and 9 – 12. These camps will offer a wide range of exposure to different mediums.  Our focus this year will be on Space; we are creating a Galaxy Gallery that will be in progress through all camps and open to the public.  The kids will create projects that they will bring home but also work together as a group to create community artwork for the gallery.  Our Camp Instructors are all experienced art teachers.  These camps will feature  projects that will expand your child’s artistic abilities! Each camp will offer different projects.We also offer CLAY CAMP.  Both hand-built and wheel-thrown pieces will be created in clay.

ALL Camps are $135 per week for members; $145 per week for non-members.  Pay for your camp first  After we receive your payment we will email you a Google Form to fill out on-line to complete your registration.

We are continually adding classes through the month for both adults and children.  Be sure to tune into our Facebook page or check out our website for up-to-date class listings.We have both weekly/on-going classes in visual arts, knitting and writing, free creative gatherings, Second Saturday Open Mic Night and so much more!  Also once-and-done type workshops for adults and kids.Check us out!!

Techniques and Traditions

Fiber Show
August 7 – October 22

This is a juried show. This means that works must be submitted ahead of time via email/photos to our jurists who will decide which pieces are accepted into this show. Not all works may be accepted into the show. Entry fee is non-refundable.

  • Accepting submissions April 1 – June 15, 2019.
  • Notification of accepted works will be emailed the week of July 1
  • Drop off accepted works – August 1 – 3.
  • Show opens August 7 and closes October 22.
  • Reception: Thursday, September 12 @ 6 – 7:30 pm.
  • Pick up – October 23 – 24.

FEE: $30 for three entries MWCA guild members, $35 for three entries non-guild members Eligibility: Any artist. Works must be made of fiber or using a fiber technique.

Volunteer Orientation
Our next Volunteer Orientation is Saturday,  April 13 at 1pm.  Volunteers are needed to act as assistants in our special needs classes.  Please email Shay Youngblood, our coordinator for these classes, if you would like to be placed on our volunteer list to contact when our special needs classes are scheduled.
