This is a night to remember prom for individuals with Special Needs
The Monroe Church of God is hosting “A Night To Shine” on Friday, Feb., 7, 2020 and many volunteers are needed. This is sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. It is a prom for individuals with Special Needs. The participants are 14 years of age and older. There are 75 participants signed up.
For each participant, a “Buddy” is needed. This is a person assigned to the participant with special needs from the time they check in until the evening is over. The event starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. There will be a meal provided by Chick-fil-a for participants and volunteers. Each volunteer must complete a background check prior to the event. You can register online by going to Monroe Church of God website https://monroecog.com/ and click on Night to Shine at the top left-hand side or go to their Facebook page for more information.
It will take about 100 volunteers to make this happen. Please volunteer if you are available. “Buddy” volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. This is where most assistance is needed. There are other volunteer positions for those wanting to participate that are 17 and younger.
