The First Presbyterian Church of Monroe welcomes a new pastor this Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019 – and it will be a first for the church. The Rev. Erin Morgan is the first full-time female pastor to serve at Monroe FPC.
“Erin is coming from Aiken, South Carolina where she had served as associate pastor at South Aiken Presbyterian Church,” said Beattie Evans, music director at Monroe FPC. “She is a graduate of Presbyterian College and Columbia Theological Seminary. Her husband, Jeff, is teaching at Carver Middle School and Erin and Jeff are parents to a 2-year old daughter, Valerie.”
Evans said the new pastor’s first sermon will be at 11 a.m. Sunday and she will be installed as the new pastor in a special service at 2 p.m.
The Monroe FPC is located at 500 Breedlove Drive in Monroe.
