Monroe PD Report: Hit and run, man with a gun, drug arrest and disputes

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 12 – 18, 2018. Due to the length of the report, it has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to an unruly patient. Officers made contact with a male patient whom was on location for a mental evaluation and refusing to cooperate with nursing staff. The patient was given a sedative. All ok.
  • Suspicious Persons, East Marable St., reference to a black male walking on the side of the road with a firearm.
  • Meet with Officer, Blaine St., Bridge of Georgia, reference to school staff putting the school on lockdown in reference to an incident earlier this date and requested extra patrol.
  • Fraud report taken at MPD, the complainant advised a named subject is doing work on her home but keeps asking for more money.  She was advised of remedies.
  • Assault, Saint Mary’s Hospital, Athens, reference to an assault on Colquitt Street last date. Complainant advised a named subject assaulted her last date.
  • Suspicious Persons, Russel Dr., reference to two black males lying in the Woodline. Subjects were gone when officers arrived., Extra patrol requested.
  • Dispute, South Hammond Dr., DA’s Office, ref to Agg Assault at Ashton Pointe earlier this date. Two male subjects were in a dispute.  One subject was said to have pulled a revolver and told the other subject to leave.  That subject did not wish to press charges but needed a report for a Temporary Protection Order.
  • Dispute, MLK Jr. Blvd., a dispute over a lottery ticket, the complainant had purchased a lottery ticket that totaled more than what she had requested.  Ga Lottery was contacted. The clerk was advised of remedies.
  • Warrant, Alcovy St., Steven Peters arrested for probation warrant. Harassment, 4th St., complainant advised that a named subject passes by her residence blowing the horn.  She was advised of remedies.
  • Hit and Run, East Spring St./South Madison Ave., reference to 2 vehicles with complaints of injury. Female subject refused EMS and did not wish to press charges. Report taken for insurance purposes.
  • Theft, Cook St., complainant stated named male subject stole her iPhone 7-Plus in Athens.  She was advised to contact Athens PD for a report.  Named male subject has an active warrant out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office for weapons violations.  Black male with purple hair.
  • Suspicious Person, East Church St., reference to a black male going door to door asking for money. Patrolled the area with no contact. All ok.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Tracey Parker arrested for Shoplifting, possession of Methamphetamine and possession of cocaine.
  • Juvenile Problem, Nowell St., Juveniles yelling at each other in the street.  They were advised to go home.
  • Traffic Stop, Hwy 78/Unisia Dr., Shawn Harper stopped for traffic violation.  A probable cause search of his vehicle found him to be in possession of approximately 9 grams of methamphetamine, 9 grams of cocaine, 58 ecstasy pills and a digital scale.  Mr. Harper was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of ecstasy with the intent to distribute.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Marable St./Matthews Park, two subjects were parking in the park.  They were advised to leave since the park was closed.
  • Dispute, Colquitt St., the complainant was on location claiming named subject stole his cologne.  He was issued a criminal trespass warning to stay away from Colquitt Street.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, regards to administering medication to a mental patient.  The medication was administered without the aid of officers.
  • Dispute, Ford St., reference to complainant arguing with her roommate over the eviction.  Eviction process was explained to complainant and parties were separated for the evening. Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., Murphy USA, reference to a red Honda that was on location.  Vehicle was gone when officers arrived.  Officers stood by as the employee closed the store.
