Monroe PD Report: Brother assaulted with vacuum cleaner, juveniles found with stolen dirt bike

The following incidents were reported by Monroe Police Department between Nov. 17 – 24, 2017. Due to the length of the report, it has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • EMS Assist, Breedlove Dr., male found deceased of natural causes.  Coroner, and CID responded.  Report taken.
  • Suspicious vehicle at Highway 138 reference to a Gold SUV failing to maintain lane. Negative contact with vehicle. WCSO also advised due to the vehicle headed toward the county.
  • Harassing Calls, W Marable St., Officer made contact with complainant who advised a subject named sold him a car and was upset at him because he wants the car back. Advised of civil processes.
  • Sick Person, MLK Jr Boulevard, while on previous call, female subject approached Officer and stated her heart was racing and felt the urge to pass out.  EMS was called, responded, and transported subject to Clearview.
  • Fraud report taken at South Broad St., complainant reported a subject has called him several times this date asking questions about his bank account, and stated a car was recovered in Texas that was rented using his S.S. number.  Report taken.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., female subject upset with Clearview staff and was refusing services and refusing to exit her driver’s vehicle. Clearview placed subject under a medical order and her driver withdrew consent of driving her home due to the high risk. Subject exited the vehicle and was turned back over to the hospital staff. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at Sycamore Court, Reference to a Honda Accord sitting in the cul-de-sac. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, MLK Jr. Boulevard, White passenger vehicle failing to maintain lane.  Negative contact with vehicle.
  • Suspicious vehicle, W Spring St. Gold passenger car driving erratically possibly made contact and did not observe any infractions or reckless driving. All was ok.
  • Suicide Threats, Spruce Lane, male subject wrote a letter to his ex-girlfriend about hurting himself.  Spoke to subject and he agreed to be transported to Clearview for an evaluation.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, South Madison Avenue at the Post Office Caller advised subject looked like an inmate. Officer made contact with subject who was just released from Walton County Sheriff’s Office. All was ok.
  • Dispute, Dean St., mother disputing with her 11-year-old son. The situation was mediated.
  • Child Custody Dispute, Alcovy St. Officer made contact with complainant who advised that the baby’s mother signed over temporary custody of her two-month-old yesterday. The mother is on drugs and has changed her mind about wanting him. Complainant has custody of the child and the mother’s whereabouts are unknown. Complainant has spoken to Department of Family and Children’s Services in regard to the child and mother. Complainant had questions regarding the legality of the paperwork. The mother was not on location.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Carver Pl., complainant advised several kids from GW Carver Homes were throwing rocks at her house.  Negative on any property damage.  An area check was conducted with negative results.
  • Dispute, W Marable St. in reference to male subject hitting his brother in the head with a vacuum cleaner. The brother received a laceration as a result of being struck in the head. Male subject was gone when officers arrived. Warrant to be taken for Aggravated Assault.
  • Discharging Firearms, Tanglewood Dr. conducted an area check and was not able to locate any suspicious activity.
  • Civil Issue, Walton Rd.  Complainant wanted to be escorted to her former residence to gather property.  All went ok.
  • Missing Person, Carver Pl., mother worried because her son, did not return home from school. The son returned home soon after Officer arrival. All ok.
  • Dispute, Walmart Distribution Center. Complainant advised Suspicious Vehicle from earlier caused him to run off the road and damage his trailer. Suspicious Vehicle was not on seen. DTP report was advised but was declined by Complainant.
  • Loud Noise Complaint, S Madison Ave. Music was coming from a vehicle on S Madison. Driver turned off music. All ok.
  • Missing Person, S Madison Ave.   Met with complainant who stated she can’t get in touch with female subject.  It was found female subject dropped her child off with a family member earlier in the day and seems to be avoiding the family of the father.  All ok.
  • EMS Assist, S Broad St., In reference to female subject being intoxicated and uncooperative. Subject transported to Clearview. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hwy 78 & Unisia Dr., in reference to a black passenger car driving recklessly.  Vehicle exited the city limits prior to my arrival.  Walton County was notified.
  • Theft, Old Mill Pt., complainant stated her husband stole her house key and $250.00 cash after she kicked him out earlier this night. Complainant advised of the Temporary Protection Order and eviction process and to notify her landlord. Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Persons, South Hammond Dr. and Cherokee Ave., Juvenile observed to be riding on a dirt bike and another Juvenile walking next to him. Upon seeing Officer juvenile dropped the dirt bike and fled on foot, other juvenile was detained. Juvenile returned to scene where he was also detained. Dirt bike was impounded until owner is discovered and both Juveniles were brought to Monroe PD to be picked up by parents. Parents cited for Parental Disobedience due to Juveniles out past curfew.
  • Citizen Flag Down officer, N Broad St (Als Discount Tire), complainant advised that last night he was walking down East Marable Street in the area of the Hot Spot and got into an altercation with someone name given. Complainant had visible markings on his face and swelling of the eye.
  • Domestic, East Church St. & Page St., Officer made contact with female and male subjects on Harris St.  Male subject ran from area while dispatch was reading his info. Male subject has a warrant and is believed to be armed and dangerous. WTBT on male subject for Obstruction.
  • Theft Report, E Marable St., complainant advised that two of his Apollo dirt bikes were stolen from his back porch. He described the dirt bikes and it resembled one that was recovered this date by officer. Complainant was given an escort to Taylors Wrecker and he advised the one that was recovered was his. He is still missing one dirt bike.
  • Uncooperative patient, West Spring St., female patient arguing with staff about blood work.  Situation mediated. Ok.
  • Theft Report, Ash St. Officer made contact with complainant who advised that someone stole his white and red Gucci mountain bike. He just wanted to advise law enforcement to be on the lookout. No report requested.
  • Civil Issue at East Washington St, Reference to a dispute over property. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop, N Broad & Tyler St. No Insurance, vehicle towed by towing co. Driver cited for no insurance.
  • Traffic Stop, N Broad at the Monroe Food Mart. No insurance, vehicle towed by towing co. Driver cited for no insurance and expired license.
  • Dispute, Carwood Dr., complainant advised the last time named female subject moved out there was a dispute. Female subject is voluntarily leaving and there is no dispute going on. Complainant was advised if an issue occurs to call back. All ok.
